At first I was a bit hesitant to pay for just a consult, but after meeting Oleg and his super friendly staff, I was happy I did it. I ended up having him help me file taxes for my business. Working with Oleg is super easy and saved me a ton of time (and stress). I plan on going back to get help filing for next year!
I moved from a combination of W2 and personal client income in 2016 to incorporating as an LLC and quitting my W2 job in 2017. I met with Oleg for a consultation when I initially made the switch and he gave me some very sound guidance about how to reorganize my finances and work/cash flow to operate as a sole proprietor. It was worth every penny, as with a few small changes he made everything less overwhelming and more do-able. Freelancers and new business owners, this is your man. Oleg is smart, quick. friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable. I've also never waited more than an hour for a response to any inquiry.
Oleg was great! He is friendly, efficient and easy to work with. My wait time for my appointment wasn't long at all and the receptionist was attentive and sweet. I was in and out in just under an hour but nothing felt hurried or too rushed. He asked all the right questions & filed the appropriate forms based on my individual needs. It was actually a pleasant experience (can't believe I'm even saying this about FILING TAXES). Moreover, I received a thumb drive with all my information right on the spot...not to mention he is pretty quick at responding to e-mails. I love the tech savvy piece to it. I'd highly recommend Oleg and his team for your tax and accounting needs.
this year was my first time filing taxes without my mom (and my second time ever). Oleg answered all of my questions via email within hours, and was able to help me throughout this entire process. I had a bunch of questions, some repetitive. Oleg has a lot of patience and wasn't bothered by my 20 questions. The price is reasonable, although some think it's pricey. I think you definitely get what you pay for, and I trust Oleg. I rather pay a little more and be confident in my tax preparer, than feel like I'm dealing with someone shady. I'm confident that Oleg has the expertise to properly file taxes and will not let you run into obstacles in the future. As for the location...the receptionist (I forget her name), was extremely nice and welcoming. She even made me coffee, because she overheard my conversation on the phone about really needing a cup. That really shocked me and I was beyond gracious for this kind gesture. As for aesthetics, when you walk in what you'll see is a very well put together office with waxed, hardwood floors. Desks and office stations are very neat and it seems like there's a staff of less than 12 (based on what you can see walking in). Oleg himself was awesome. That's all I can say. You can't ask for more than someone who knows what they're doing and addresses any doubts you might have. I got my tax return already and I felt like I just filed 3 weeks ago. All the info he gave me was on point. He also informed me I need to contact my job so they can take out more state taxes so that I don't have to pay anything back next time (since this has happened to me for 2 years). Will use this location next year and will be referring all my friends and colleagues. Great, great, great. A+++
I highly recommend Oleg in any of your tax concerns. I had a lot of apprehensions on seeking any professional services here in NYC. I rely heavily on reviews here in Yelp, and I was not disappointed when I went to see Oleg. I will confirm all the positive reviews plus more. My questions regarding tax consequences "gifting" my daughter was fully answered and he guided us on how to do it properly. I've done my research about "gifting" before seeing him but had no idea on how and when to do it. He was very patient and detailed in explaining to us. We left his office vey enlightened and informed. I was prepared to pay his full consultation fee but was very surprised and happy that when we were settling with Jane (his sweetest assistant), we were charged 50% LESS!!! Who does that in NYC??? We'll definitely come back for ALL our tax woes. He's the real deal. 6 stars ******
Oleg didn't show up for his appointment and we drove 40 minutes out of our way to get here. I could never trust a person who doesn't show up to a meeting his own assistant made. Amateur.
Visited Oleg based on review and he did not disappoint. I went in for a consultation on starting a business. I was grateful they offered a half hour consult, which was great for getting the conversation started, allowing me to go back and do research, then come back again if needed. In 30 minutes he answered all the question I had and then some. He was to the point, very knowledgeable and offered good advice. I will definitely return for his services when the time comes.
5 stars all the way!!! Oleg and of course Jane (his assistant) are very professional and have a sweet disposition. They answered all my questions and taken care all about my business financially better than anyone! I am so glad I found them! Thank you so much! You both are the best :) xoxo
Very professional and pleasant office. Not thrilled about having to wait for my scheduled appointment but there is a bowl of candy and a chatty receptionist and frankly, it really just illustrates that Oleg will take time with his clients (even if it ran into my time). Oleg is warm, obviously very smart and I felt comfortable immediately. I didn't like that we are screwed on taxes overall, but that's not his fault. Technology wise, this couldn't have been any easier -- quick email responses, tax returns delivered on flash drive, electronic filing, huge vertical monitors for line-by-line walk through... really the best set up I've seen. Having used another tax firm in the past, I can also say that the pricing here was more than fair. I highly recommend giving OG a try if you need help with your taxes.
I was excited to give Oleg a review since he has done such a tremendous job but see many have already beat me to the punch. He might be a little more money but worth every penny. He goes over all your items, very patient and was great with my son running around the office with his cars the entire time
Smart accountant. On point. First accountant I actually like!
We found OG Tax Group through Yelp. Many people gave positive reviews of this company and now we know the reasons. Jen is great! She's very friendly and helpful in booking our appointment to meet with Oleg. Today, we met Oleg for a consultation to discuss filing business tax return where the income is from oversea. We also discussed about gift and estate tax matters. Oleg first of all is very knowledgeable in the tax and accounting space. He answered all of our questions and the ones he doesn't know he won't bullshit you. He will refer you to the appropriate professionals. He is a true professional and very courteous to speak with. He is responsive as he won't leave you hanging with unanswered questions or concerns. We believe that we have found our accountant to work with on our future tax returns. Mike and Sonia Staten Island
I was recommended Oleg's services by a friend who had gone to him for her taxes - she swore by him and I can completely see why. The firm is very professional, very friendly, and most of all did miracle work with my mess. Oleg was extremely knowledgeable and fast. I felt like I was important and I was treated like VIP. I think what was most impressive to me is that Oleg had lots of answers and solutions so it made it obvious that I was in good hands, and I was - love the outcome! Thank you so much for your hard and fast work!
This is THE place to go in Brooklyn. Fast, reasonable, friendly. Tried another Brooklyn one for freelancers a few years ago, but they were rude and disorganized so I never went back. Forget the others, just go here first! Nice office, great systems, super receptionist. Oleg cleaned up two years of what felt like an overwhelming tax mess in less than 48 hours, and saved me money too. Highly recommended.
This guy is the man. He is fair in his prices and gets you a great return come tax season. I can't imagine going to anyone else anymore for my taxes.
My daughter found Oleg on Yelp and he deserves all of the five stars that he received. We live by car about 45 minutes from his business. This was our first year doing business with Oleg and I can't say enough about him. Excellent service and very Professional. He did everything so quickly and at the same time giving excellent advice. If you are looking for a new tax consultant I highly recommend him and I guaranteed you will not be disappointed. I will definitely be back next year and I will recommend him to anyone. This place is amazing.
Let me be clear : Oleg rocks. I had a tricky, years - old nagging problem and he made it go away, exactly when, how, and for the price we agreed on. Very happy to have found him.
Excellent service and very efficient in completing my returns. Very responsive to questions and exceeded my overall expectations.
I had been looking for an accountant I could trust at a fair rate in NYC and am so happy I came across Oleg's company on Yelp. He did everything so quickly and helped with some questions I had about my LLC making me more confident as a new business owner. He makes the process so easy and his staff is organized and warm. I will definitely be back next year and recommend him to anyone in the area!
We have decided to go with a new accountant this year. We picked out OG Tax group because of the Yelp reviews. Oleg was very professional and knowledgeable. He also took time to provide consultation for our 2016 tax plan. Our tax was completed on the spot, everything was saved on a memory stick.
