Pnms Homework Page

Welcome to the Gemini Team.  Please contact us by email if you have concerns or questions about your child's education.  Middle school gradebooks are electronic.  Parents and students may access Power School from North's homepage to view students' grades as well as any teacher comments.  Homework is assigned daily.  Students are expected to copy the homework into their agenda at the beginning of each class.  Homework is also posted on this webpage.  Thank you for being involved in your child's experience this year.

It is also important for absent students to check the website when they are out to keep up-to-date as much as possible.

At North Middle School, we recognize individual student needs and work hard to provide a safe, caring, inclusive, and positive environment.  NMS is our school of choice!

Have you heard of Nutrislice?

Portage Public Schools, in partnership with Chartwells K12, is now using Nutrislice to publish the school menus to a new interactive website and a free smartphone app! Now our school community can access our menus anywhere, anytime!

New easy to use features include:
•  More information about menu items, including a photo and description
•  Filter for common food allergens like nuts, wheat and dairy
•  A translation feature to translate your menus into a number of different languages
•  Access to nutrition information like carb counts and calories with just a few clicks!

As part of our anti-bullying policy, students and parents are encouraged to report incidents as part of our 3 step program.  Ask them to:

1. “Stop doing what they’re doing” and use our school’s stop signal.

2.Then Walk away from the problem behavior.

3.If the behavior doesn’t stop,Talk to an adult.

Computer Use

Signed Acceptable Use Agreement

All students coming into NMS must have a signed Acceptable Use Agreement form for this school before they can use the school’s computers. This means all incoming 6th graders must submit a signed agreement form even if they submitted a form at their elementary school. The PPSNet User Agreement is printed at the back of the Student Handbook for your reference

“Opting Out” Procedure for Computer use & Internet Access

Parents have the option of excluding their child from using computers or having access to the Internet while at school. An “Opting Out” form must be signed and submitted by the parent at the beginning of EACH SCHOOL YEAR – an Opting Out form is only valid for one school year. The District believes, however, that the use of technology is an important and integral part of each child’s education.
